Welcome to NW Magic Season 17!

NW Magic 2022-23 season!  

We are excited to kick-off the Spring/Summer 2023 season in mid-March.  This is shaping up to be the most competitive Spring/Summer season to date with all the talent we have in the program.  Please be sure to read this letter in full as there is a link for you to accept your new player  invitation and to complete your new player registration.

We are a BlueStar Program that plays in USJN & Elite 40 college viewing tournaments.

NW Magic is the only BlueStar Elite club & the only Elite 40  club  in the Northwest (Oregon, Washington, Idaho). BlueStar is a pioneer in grassroots elite level basketball circuit tournaments for more than 30 years. It has produced more scholarships for NCAA Women’s basketball players than any other circuit in the world.  Elite 40 is the top independent circuit in North America.  

NW Magic will enter USJN college viewing tournaments and/or  Elite 40 college viewing tournaments this season. USJN is one of the longest running organizations in girls basketball running tournaments across the country since the 1980s. USJN Tournaments have been sponsored by Nike for more than 20 years. 3,600 plus colleges came to USJN events last season. 

What Our Spring/Summer Program Includes

Practices/Trainings ,  Hands-on Recruiting Advisory & Marketing, Tournament Entry Fees & Coaches Cost.  There are two registration options Option 1 – Travel with Family (Flight, Hotel, & Transportation NOT INCLUDED) ; Option 2- Travel with Magic- (Flight, Hotel, & Transportation INCLUDED)    Details below.   

Players

If your daughter will be playing, please confirm their participation with us and complete registration by March 1.   Registration information below.  

Teams 

NW Magic will field the following high school travel teams:

• Senior Team – Class of 2023
• 17U 
• 16U
• 15U 

*NW Magic will field 1-2  teams per division.  

**Teams/Roster will be set after the “Second Chance Tryouts” scheduled Saturday March 4th.  If you have a question about what roster your player is on (before second chance tryouts), please contact Coach Vanessa @ 253-355-6497.  Our goal is always to put your player in the very best light in front of college coaches.  

Attention Seniors!  

We have a special program for seniors. The below information is “our program”, however , seniors have a month-to-month platform due to being eligible to commit this April or May. Additional details about our Senior program will be posted.

Our Approach for Tournaments

Teams will play Local warmup tournaments as part of the preparation for the National USJN/Elite 40  schedule. We will have regular Practices & Trainings (this schedule is maintained in the TeamSnap app, which you will get set up and have access to after you have accepted your invitation).

Uniform

DEADLINE: Uniform Deadline March 6th, 2023  11:59pm.  This hard deadline will ensure uniforms arrive by the first tournament.  If you are joining after deadline , plan to borrow a uniform until your purchased uniform arrives. Please note , the borrowed uniform may not be the same as new. Please order your uniform today. 

This season, players will have reversible uniform sets:

**Does not include a team shoe. A Team shoe is determined by each team.**

Weekly zoom parent meetings are on Thursdays @ 9pm (a Zoom link is sent out weekly through our TeamSnap app)

Parent Volunteers Needed

Each team will need a team parent to assist with communication and team travel.  Please let us know if you are available to help this season.

Parent Checklist 

• Check the schedule and see if it’ll work (local and/or national schedules)
• New Players need to sign up by March 1, 2023 
• Returning Players need to manage your player account
• Order uniform before March 6th  2023 
• Register your child for an AAU Membership if your player doesn’t already have one.  You will need your child’s AAU # to complete the team registration.  This can be done at www.aausports.org  Our AAU club code is W34AT4 2022 – NORTHWEST MAGIC.
• Complete the NCAA Athlete Registration
